Four kinds of cabinet hardware
Every door, drawer and lift in a cabinet runs on one of them. For each, the details listed are what we need to quote the right part.
- Concealed cup hinge, 35 mm cup
- Full-extension drawer runner
- Lift system for a wall cabinet door
Hinges
Most cabinet doors hang on concealed cup hinges: the cup sits in a 35 mm hole bored in the back of the door, and the arm clips onto a mounting plate inside the cabinet. They are made for full overlay, half overlay and inset doors, with or without a soft-close damper.

Drawer systems
A drawer system is what a drawer runs on: concealed runners under a wooden drawer box, or a complete metal system with its own sides. Full extension runners bring the back of the drawer within reach, and a damper closes it quietly.

- Cabinet depth, drawer type and quantity
Lift systems
Lift systems open wall cabinet doors upward and hold them open above the cabinet. Each model is matched to the height and weight of the door it carries.

Accessories
Accessories are the smaller parts that complete a cabinet, from shelf supports and connectors to interior organisers.

Questions about cabinet hardware
What types of cabinet hinges are there?
Most modern cabinets use concealed cup hinges, set in a 35 mm hole in the back of the door. They come in full overlay, half overlay and inset versions, which set how much of the cabinet side the closed door covers, and in several opening angles.
How do you adjust a concealed cabinet hinge?
Most concealed hinges adjust in three directions, side to side, height and depth, with screws on the hinge arm and its mounting plate. Set the side screw first to even the gap between two doors, then the height and the depth until the door sits flush.
How many hinges does a cabinet door need?
Two hinges carry most base and wall cabinet doors; taller or heavier doors need three or more. Hinge makers publish charts of door height and weight against the number of hinges, and those charts decide.
What is the difference between undermount and side mount drawer slides?
Undermount slides sit under the drawer box and stay hidden when the drawer is open, while side mount slides fix to the sides of the box and stay visible. Undermount slides are common in modern kitchen drawers, often with full extension and a soft-close damper.
What do soft close and push to open mean?
Soft close is a damper that slows a door or drawer in its last centimetres and closes it quietly. Push to open lets a door or drawer without a handle open with a press on its front, which suits slab doors in high gloss or soft touch.
How do I ask for a quote on cabinet hardware?
Send QUIX Group the maker and the article number of each hinge, slide or lift, with quantities, through the request form. For hinges, add the door thickness and the overlay; for lifts, the door height and weight.
